Took Matthew to Giant Eagle, he went in the eagle's nest for the first time, and found it very exciting. Got supplies for cookies, because our weekend is PACKED. Picked Daniel up, and the boys helped to make cookies. 2 dozen cookies donated to the karate school, cut, sorted and bagged for the Christmas party tomorrow.
Volunteered tonight for an hour in the facepainting room at the Belle Valley Holiday Social. It was pretty cool, and I would have spent more time, but the boys showed up and had big plans. Matthew was totally excited about face painting until it came time to go in the room. He was having none of that, but wanted desperately to go to the Holiday store. The line was miles long, and he's going Thursday with his class, so I convinced him with the bribe of cookies and cocoa to leave the store behind. While eating cookies and trying not to get burned with cocoa, Santa showed up and read The Night Before Christmas. Daniel told Dad "that's not the real Santa Dad..." and around that time Matthew decided he must have a Christmas tree painted on his cheek like Daniel's, so off we went to get his face painted at last.
Headed home for some small arguements about finishing his map and Daniel not calming down - but 30 seconds before 8pm, once their heads hit the beds it was over, and they were out.
The weekend's crazy. Tomorrow is full: Hockey/Daniel and I shopping for Matthew's party (scratch using the curious george stuff, apparently only Batman will do) and then off to the Karate school party. Home for naps, then Grammie time for M's bday.
Sunday is Matthew's party (theme TBD) and naps, then mom wants to escape to a spa before another crazy week ahead.
